Hey Guys,

I was salvaging what was left in an old CRT television and found a 40-pin PDIP with the the label, LSC437868P. It has Motorola's Trademark 'M' on it, so, I am assuming that Motorola manufactured it. Also inscribed on it is 'MAG TECH 1996'. I looked for the datasheet on it, but I did not get much information about it. My guess is that it is a controller of some type.

NOTE: I am aware that the image will not aid in identifying this mystery IC; I suppose I just like images...

Hi, nDever. I would assume it is a microcontroller of some sort. I have found dozens of those in the past in televisions.

Its a processor chip & they are custom programed for each different model TV, generaly not reprogramable. Mainly used to process the remote signals & tuning of channels.
