Thats really funny you say that because A) my third year assignment was to design a synthesiser and B) I have already made a VCO which has a linear to log converter using two matched transistors and some very sensitive components (well, the resistance values of the setup need to be very tight in tolerance).

I plan to make something proper for myself including MIDI controllers!
