    Hello,

I want to connect 8 GSM modems with 1 microcontroller. but my microcontroller has only one UART. So i need multiple UART. which are the techniques? is there any direct IC available?

There are code examples out there to create a "soft" UART on any I/O pin just using code. AFAIK a GPS is uses a fairly low data rate so you may be able to read 8 and still get useful work done.

It may be better if you switch each on and off to a single UART and read each in sequence.

Is your micro going to be the master?
If so you could use a data switcher, starting with something like a MAX4948?

    Or a "1 of 8" multiplexer IC?

Use multiplexing IC to connect 8 GSM modems .
