Building a robot that uses the MSP430 microcontroller. This is for competition. Part of the kit they gave us has an IR communications subsystem. The robot can interact with the playing field via a unidirectional infrared (IR) communications link. This is an added benefit and there are not any instructions on how to set it up to work. This is a new add on and they are leaving it up to the teams to figure it out. It is a TSOP4856. My question is where do I start? How can I program the IR to communicate with their sensors. Do I just need to write some coding in C? Please advise. Willing to work and learn. Thank you.
