It's time for my little 1980 Suzuki GN400 to be converted from 6V to 12V electrics. It has a permanent magnet alternator and puts out about 250 Watts for Headlight, taillight, battery, horn, ect. The third party Tympanium shunt regulators only regulate one alternation of the waveform. At highway speeds this regulator has already blown my low beam. So now I have an initial design I would like to run by you guys.

To reduce the component count I've selected Dual Complementary Bipolar Transistors. I'm attaching the schematic and datasheets..........

Will this fundamentally work? I've never worked with this type of component before.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks
    Ed
