Motor dc frequency

    hi. plz i want to know if there is a recommended frequency value to control the motor speed .

    To minimize switching losses (heating) in the PWM transistor(s); as low as possible.
    To minimize acoustic noise (buzzing) in the motor; high enough (likely above hearing range).
    To minimize the size of bypass capacitors; the higher the better.

    I assume from the thread title you are talking about a DC motor.
    Brushed or brushless?
    PWM frequency?

    thanks Mike ML for your help :)..alec_t Im speaking about pwm frequency of a brushled motor controller

    Commercial Manuf. such as the popular A-M-C uses 20Khz PWM freq.

    Traction motor drivers use low frequencies (couple of hundred Hz) to increase motor performance at very low RPMs.

    You will also see this on devices like cordless hand-drills, to give max torque at very low drilling RPMs.
