Hi.
Iam designing a power inverter. It is a 3 phase inverter. Totally there must be 6 mosfets or IGBTs.

The maximum current rating of the inverter is 8amps.
The inverter line - line volateg is 415v rms.

What should be the MOSFETs or IGBTs rating?

and I need a diode that must be able to withstand for 415v and same 8 amps.

IGBT's usually have voltage ratings of 600 and up. If the inverter is line frequency, an IGBT is probably a good choice. I have found them in TO-247 with current ratings of better than 70 amps. International Rectifier and IXYS are good sources to search for devices.

It would be good to choose components with twice of the needed specifications. This will increase their life and cost somehow.
