Mosfet Book Problem/Multisim

    Hello,

    I am going through the mosfet chapter and I understand the math but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to match that up with multisim.

    I attached the pictures of the problem and solution and my attempt at horrible multisiming a nmos fet from the problem. Its showing .798microvolts on the Vout right after 12.4k resistor instead of .1v as it shows in the math.

    Also is the IV analyzer only to analyze the curve of the IV characteristics mosfet by itself? or does it have any purpose while the fet is part of a circuit?

    The transistor you used for the simulation likely has different characteristics then that assumed in the calculations so that could account for the different results.

    I've never used the IV analyzer so can't comment on that.

    The IV analyzer looks at individual component only. When using it, the component must be disconnected from the circuit. You can find examples on how to use multisim instruments here.
