    pls anybody help,

i want to monitor the device status through the microcontroller...im trying to design a circuit with using series current to voltage transformer..is it correct or is there any other options to implement?

A resistor can be a current to voltage transformer. What is the device? Are you trying to determine if it is on or off?

yeah. i'm trying to determine whether the load is on or off... mainly for incandensecent light. others which is below 1500W.

Ok can you give some data about the current transformer. Like data sheet and how you are going to implement in your circuit. If this a mains related or high voltage setup (> 50 volt). I think a current transformer is the best thing to use, and it is also safe.
