Hey I have another post up but I wanted to make a new thread just for this problem because if I figure this part out I can finish my project. What I need is to have a 4017 count normally through 2 steps triggered by a momentary switch. On the third step it needs to only stay high only while the button is pressed and when released go to the next output. In other words I want to press the button quickly for the first two steps, the third pulse needs to be momentary and when released go on to step 4. I dont know if a capacitor could possibly be used that is charged by the output of Q3 and it discharges when the button is released and it pulses the clock pin making it step to Q4. I need some help with this as this project means alot to me. I have spent alot of time trying to figure this out and Im just not skilled enough in this area of electronics to figure it out. PLEASE HELP

    Schematics? Always.

Even if your schematic doesn't work it gives us a clue where you're trying to go.
