Is there anything newer/nicer than the x7660 negative voltage generator chip?

What's the consensus on a cheap general purpose j-fet rail to rail op amp? Kinda like "today's 741".

Do you need just a converter or a converter regulator? What negative supply current do you need? John

    TC762 has a zener regulator.

It won't be more than a few 10's of milliamps. This will be the -5v rail for a few op-amps so being regulated would score extra points.

Not having much luck finding this. Who makes it?

The switched capacitor ones are all about the same in terms of parts count. The Maxim link is a good place to look. The MAX768, which I was thinking of for regulated both + and - won't handle your current needs.

Sorry, my error, it should have been TC7662. Microchip make these, along with a few other manufacturers.
