    Hi guys!

My group are going to make a presentation for our class about modbus.
The thing is, none of us really know how it works.
So I'm asking you if anyone could be so kind and try to explain to me the basics, and some pros and cons regarding modbus.
What would be a good alternative to modbus? Why should anyone use modbus?

Edit: I've tried a few Google searches and my best lead so far is this forum.

    Thanks
    Kalleklovn

Ok, so here is a nice little list of what we're supposed to find.

    - Protocols
    - Communication
    - Price
    - Difference between modbus and other buses
    - Cabling
    - pros and cons
    - Why should anyone chose modbus over any other buses?

well well! Kalle I think you are in the wrong forum. You should ask your question in the Modbus Community. Try this site http://modbus.control.com/ they are the experts on the modbus topic.
    Lykke til (good luck)
