I need to send some datas from DEVkit8000 embedded board to atom processor(pc). i have connected the two devices using serial cable(rs232). how to use modbus to communicate and transfer the data between the two.

You need a specialized software that supports the MODBUS protocol. Also you need a registers map for the board.

 

for testing this communication using modbus, i have taken two pc's and connected both systems using serial cable and i installed libmodbus in both pc. by doing this both pc will support modbus Rtu for transferring data?

how to get and use the register map? i cant able to understand the register map concept, could you please explain?
