Hello to all,

I am designing a Mod 16 SYNCHRONOUS counter using 2 x 74LS163 & using 2 x 74LS47 driver & 2 x 7 segment display. My counter is to count from 0 - 15, & my current status is that 2 x 74LS163 syncronous counter is connected to the 7447 driver which is than connected to the segment display so that it will display the decimal output. A two input NAND gate is connected at the 2nd 74LS163 outputs respectively D & A (1001) and its output (NAND) is connected to CLR or reset. Similarly a two input AND gate is connected at the same outputs, however its output is connected to the CLR or reset of 1st 74LS163.The response that I am currently getting is as follows:
01 - 02 - 03 - 04 - 05 - 06 - 07 - 08 - 09 - 10 - 01 in this sequence

my reset is at 01 & how do i count up to 15 and reset again.........

I am stuck so can anyone carry me further from where i am @...??

From your description, the AND gate is causing the count to reset at 10. Remove it and the '163 should count up to 15.
