A style point in the first paragraph. I would not use "indelibly" here; how about "profoundly"?
In paragraph 4, "back-scattering" should be "back-scattered".
Just before the figure titled "Principal quantum number ..." the sentence "The maximum number of electrons that any shell may hold is described by the equation 2n2, where n is the principle quantum number." should be "expression" not "equation" and "principal" not "principle".
I found the explanations here clear and interesting; I don't know enough to confirm the technical content but it all made sense to me!
