I am looking for an affordable microprocessor that has a lot of supporting documentation. Dose any one know any microprocessor like that?

It depends what you want it for really. You can get really cheap PICs with very few pins/functions or you can use something like an Arduino if you want something that has a large educational following. These processors are not true microprocessors of course but again it depends on what you are really looking to do.

It's possible he is looking for a microcontroller.

Nobody would bother with an obsolete microprocessor these days. Why would you want the hassle of assembling multiple chips to make it compute when you could just use one chip?
