i need help for my final year project?

iif every one know how to interface pic microcontroller with pc using serial cable ?
and how to check the port value of the pic in vb program (sending port value to pc ).

Hi, I manage to connect an 8051 with the PC using UART by using an USB module. I just set up the USB module in operational mode (from data sheet) and connected the USB with the 8051 in handshaking mode if you plane to send and recieve data from both side.

The Pins that must be connected are TX RX CTS and RTS.

Sorry can't tell you more right now but I dont have that much info on me.
