Hello, I want to ask when you say a 6 1/2 digit DMM what do this mean? sorry for the question I am trying to learn electronics.

We prefer that you not post a new question into an existing thread. It is confusing as to posting answers.

Just a note - the 1/2 digit is the most significant one. For instance, the usual 3 1/2 digit display can show up to 1999. The upper digit is only 0 or 1. Any meter's display will show this.

There are also displays that go to 1/2 and even 3/4 digits. The definition is a bit up to the manufacturer - one meter with a 3 3/4 digit display has a maximum count or 5999.
