    I'm sure the local jurisdiction expended plenty of resources after the camera person turned the phone around and dialed 911. It makes me wonder what the infant mortality rate is for ducks generally and whether the rate is higher or lower in an urban environment with it's cars, feral cats and storm drains.

    I saw a documentary where a squirrel caught and ate a duckling. They aren't called tree rats for nothing.

    Damn things...

    I've seen pike eat ducklings when fishing. Poor things seem to be a tasty meal for lots of creatures.

    I don't know why the mother is so worried. The smart one made it across just fine. :D

    By the way, how do we know that the other babies are not stuck on the other side and were just afraid to cross the grate?
