Seems like magic jack is releasing a new dongle that uses unauthorized cell bandwidth to make free calls on cells at home. This isn't new technology but usually this goes through wifi not cell bands.

 

I was just reading about that, lol.

Im sure that ATT and Tmobile are banging on the doors to the FCC but they might have trouble since it is only using the cell signal from phone to computer.

 

I'd be worried about interference. They say it can cover a 3k s/f home. Thats got to mess with the proper carriers. I guess on the plus side let the hacking begin! I can't imagine magic jacks going to have jack for security.
