Low Tech Battery Holder Adapter

    I needed a 4.5vdc power source for my PICAXE project board, but all I could find was a battery holder for 4 AA batteries. Rather than solder a wire in the battery holder, I cut a 1.8" piece of .5" OD wooden dowel and a strip of aluminum from a beverage can, scraped the plastic coating from the ends of the aluminum strip (for conductivity), and inserted the adapter in one position on the battery holder.
