    LM311N comparator.
    78L10 voltage regulator.
    4.3v 500mW zener diode.
    LED (any color)

    Resistors;
    22k 0.25w
    4.7k 0.25w
    1.8k 0.25w

    Capacitors;
    1000uF 10v
    100uF 16v
    47nF 63v

    I be greatful if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Can you point us at a link for the circuit? There really do not seem to be enough parts listed to make a fuel level sensor.

    Do you know how the comparator works, would you like to know? I'd be happy to explain it.
    This page was great when I was first learning to use a comparator.
