I have a project that I am doing for class. We are getting 5vdc from a renewable energy source and we need to convert that to 5vrms ac 60hz. Is there a circuit I could build that would do this?

Well, the problem is 5Vrms is not the same as a sine wave with an amplitude of 5V, which would be what is normally considered "5V ac 60 Hz".

Are you using a sine wave, square wave or another wave?

What level of current does your source supply?

I am using a sine wave with around 25 mA of current. We have to connect to a mock up power grid that has a sine wave 5vrms 60 Hz. The problem is that I cannot find out how to convert our 5vdc to the 5vrms ac sine wave 60 hz. Thanks for any input.

    Bump.
I am looking for a dc to dc circuit that will triple my incoming 5vdc. Anyone know where I can find one? And also a dc to ac circuit that will take that tripled voltage and convert it to a sine wave. Thank you for any input!

I am receiving 5vdc from a power source at ~25 mA. I need to feed this into a 5vrms sine wave input. What we have is a mock up grid with 2 renewable energy sources powering it and I am in charge of the connections. I need to boost the incoming DC to get the correct voltage into the 5vrms sine wave which is about 14 p-p. At the same time I need to produce a sine wave to feed into the grid. Any ideas on how to boost that voltage and then create the sine wave at 5vrms? Circuit schematics would be perfect. Thank you.

the 'grid' gang should get together and place your posts under a common thread.
