    Hey guys,

I am currently in search of a distributor who sells Video Display Adapter ICs. I would preferably like to have a through-hole DIP rather than a SOIC. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What sort of video do you want to display? Part number of the soic part would be helpful.

I am sorry. I am looking to output composite a video signal. I am looking for a chip similar to the TI TMS9918.

It was a neat chip, you may still be able to find one in the surplus market, else you might try a Parallax Propeller IC (40pin DIP)

Are there are any alternate dedicated VDAs similar to the 9918 still in circulation?

None I'm aware of. Not sure you can still get the DRAM ICs either. Did you check out the Parallax IC?

I did check out the Parallax Propeller and it looks like that is going to be my video processor. Thank You.

I do have one question about the Propeller. When operating in composite video mode, how many colors are available?
