There are AA's, AAA's, C's, D's, etc. I have never heard of an A battery. What is it?

The radio A battery was a 1.5 volt cell that was in a cylindrical container. They were about 4 inches in diameter, and around 8 inches tall. They had a central stud connector with the negative stud out on the edge. Also referred to as "ignitor" batteries (not sure about the spelling).

The A battery ran the tube heaters, while the B battery suppled B+.

Is there a particular size called 'A'?

Yeah, that's it. I can't find anything anywhere, I've looked on digikey but the closest thing looks like a C battery holder
