I'm working on a project that uses the TSL1402 linear array which is a 256x1 pixel photodiode array. The thing that I love about the sensor is that it provides analog output for each bit and is just easy to work with.
The problem that I have is that it's only 400dpi resolution and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a sensor that's about the same physical size but in the 600-1200dpi range.
I know there are CCD arrays out there but they tend to require a few more connections and seem to be more expensive and are a few inches in length when I'm looking for the optical range to be a little over half an inch.
