    Hi,

Are there any long wavelength infrared sensors, wavelength 8-15 um. I cant seem to find any.

I do find PIRs(passive infrared sensors) however they seem to only come in dual or qual sensing elements. I wonder if there are any single element PIRs?

    Thanks,
    Renl

For a non-contact thermometer, or other purpose?

hrmm yes something like that, but with the range of a standard PIR. :)

Find a material that can focus longwave IR well, and you will have your solution.

PIR sensors don't actually measure the temperature, they simply detect a rapid change in the field of view, without actually knowing the temperature of the field of view.
