    Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone here might have some insight into how to use the LM567CN tone decoder (or any of its derivatives) to detect a specific frequency from an AC signal. I looked online and found a few websites that give you the formula but when I set up the circuit's resistive and capacitive values the center frequency and the bandwidth do not match that of the calculated value. Is there any way to determine the center frequency/bandwidth without the trial and error of changing the resistors/caps? The center freq. I am trying to obtain is 1 KHz with a BW of about 10%. Any help is appreciated.

Instead of those few with "the formula", try one of the so many with the datasheet.

Used it more than 20 years ago and was not very hard to get it working.
