Dear all,

I have made a 5 volt switching regulator using LM2576 and it is working well but inductor is heating too much, i cant touch it too. i am using standard circuit suggested in datasheet. Current requirement for my circuit is not more than 0.1 amp.
Circuit Components: Inductor 100mH(1W)-small resistor type, Capacitor 1000uf(63v), Diode 1N5822.

Please help me to resolve inductor heating problem.

Waiting for valuable suggestions.

If possible, post the circuit or tell us where to see it.

Other important details:
1 .What are you using as an inductor (manufacturer and part number if you have it).

2. What is the input voltage?

3. What is the frequency of operation and have you verified it?

Thank you Dodgydave..

I now realize that i am using wrong inductor value. But higher inductor value is better for better regulation of voltage.
I will try with 100uH, i hope heating problem will not be there.
