Links to websites?

Depends. Are you selling anything? This would qualify as spam if so. This site is very aggressive against any form of spam.

If not, you can always post it as a question (including your website) as a new thread.

You asked this using someone elses thread. This is called hijacking, and is strongly discouraged. It is a net etiquette sort of thing. A thread started by you is yours, just like a thread started by someone belongs to them. You may post a reply to an existing thread if it helps the author of that thread, but new queries should have a new thread started.

The topic has its own thread now.

We haven't got a hard-and-fast policy about such links. Some links are more objectionable than others, as Bill has mentioned.

Selling in these forums is not allowed, as Bill has said.

Putting your website address in your signature is allowed.

If you can refrain from "advertising your services" I don't think they would mind the web address in your signature, based on my own signature.
