lift station help

    This lift station is going to be controlled by a master control relay switch, 2 hand off auto switches, 4 discrete flow switches(lead, lag, off, high level alarm). These floats are going to control 2 pump motors. Each motor will have 2 red lights for running and 2 green lights for stopped. The lead motor can typically keep up with the water influent flow, an alternating control circuit need to be implemented so that both motors maintain about the same run time. Simple enough but the catch is that this has to be done without using a alternating relay. That is where I am lost any feedback would help. Thanks.

    Why? That seems like the easiest solution and you've ruled it out.

    Also, I assume you want both pumps to run if needed?

    This is a class project and we are not aloud to use a alternating relay we have to construct using only relays. I agree with you it would be real simple. Yes both pumps would have to be used if one could not keep up. I am just lost on trying to figure out how to make this work with out the alternating relay.
