Would a telecaster (4 way) pickup selector work as a switch for 5mm leds? (not using it for pickups too, just leds, 12 at the most)

I want to wire up a few tri leds that turn on/on/on/off, at first I figured I would need a 2 way toggle switch (to turn on/off) then a 3 way on/on/on switch for switching the three colors, but I wondered if a single 4 way guitar switch could do the trick? http://www.guitarpartssite.com/Allparts-EP-4374-000-p/EP-4374-000-AP.htm I also found this image of the contacts: http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/showphoto.php/photo/15774

A big mechanical switch like a guitar's pickup selector may be overkill but otherwise should work fine for switching the small currents needed for normal LEDs. If you get to switching a lot of them, or some higher power ones, you should probably check the ratings on the switch.

Thanks, it looks like I have lots of options then between guitar switches and that rotary switch!
