    hi guys

my aim is to make a basic flasher controller for a set of leds driven by the RCA output of my home theater system.

im using a tip31 to flash a 12v bar of leds. This works great when the audio is driven by my mp3 player however i get nothing when its plugged into the home theater. i know i could use a headphone amp but i want to keep it simple.

    any ideas

    thanks in advanced

basically yes thats what im looking to build but i don't need of the frequency filters as the leds will be run after an active crossover.
i think what i really need is a basic amp/IC that i can use to boost the signal from line level (2V p-p) to something the tip31 can work with.

sorry for not being specific in my first post
