So I'm not the best at all of this stuff and I don't understand circuits and all this electronics stuff nearly as much as a lot of the people I see posting in here so I figured I'd ask for help. I am pretty good at stringing together simple series of LEDs, but that's about the extent of what I can do. What I'm looking to do is to put together a series of LEDs that I'm able to dim ideally with a switch. I don't know if this is even possible. The light would be for a friend of mine who makes short films and could use some better lighting. I figured it would make more sense to use a light that can have its' brightness adjusted rather than messing around with umbrellas and all this other stuff he does now. Thanks in advance for any help.

 

if the switch operates fast we can control duty cycle (PWM) and you got yourself a dimmer. in fact this is how they normally work.
