hi, i am new to electronics and stuff but i would like to know if a LED light display can be made so that it can be connected to the car audio system. i want the device to be connected like a car tape amplifier but only the output will be lights and not sound. this means the lights will look like a disco light. i want it to treble and bass or maybe three or four frequencies.

if at all such a device can be built could anyone show me how, circuit diagram as simple as possible, and all the components needed. this would be for cars so it will have to work on a 12VDC power. the LEDs i want to connect are also 12VDC LED strips.
