Ok to start hello everyone :p

I'm working on a project converting my gauge cluser to LED's witch is done but.. I want to have the LED's powerd by two sources its already wired into the headlight switch so when u turn on the lights they come on witch is fine but I want them to come on when to door is open... so this is where I'm stuck.. I don't know what I need to wire it to the door and the switch without the door (dome) lights coming on when the switch is powerd..
I was thinking a relay but I've never used relays so I'm unsure.... anyone have any ideas?

I guess in short I want to power 30 leds by two power sorces but I need to cancle one out while the other is powering the leds.. I hope that makes since lol its all in my head..
    Thanks

That is a topic we can't help with. The issue is wiring changes that critically involve safety. LED lighting is significantly different from filament lamps, and the existing dimming may not function at all with LED's.
