    Hi

I have to design and build a circuit that causes an LED to brighten until it reach maximum brightness, flash for five seconds and then dim. I thought a possible way to do this was to use an integrator attached to a comparator with the integrator causing the voltage to ramp and then once it had reached maximum brightness send a feedback signal causing the comparator to switch signals to a low output and allow the capacitor on the integrator to discharge causing the led to dim. Not sure how to go about the feedback mechanism or if this design would make sense. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Probably easiest with any small microcontroller.
