Hello All,

One of the quoted use of LDO is for battery powered devices where output of battery can vary depending on whethe it is fully charged or not. Here LDO is used to supply constant voltage to the device based on variable input voltage from the battery. Is my interpretation correct?

Look at this pdf of battery type and discharge curves, adding two or more batteries of the SAME type will increase the overall voltage.

A LDO regulator would be chosen to suit the battery type and terminal voltage and required current.
