I was wonder..what is the difference between Reflective and Transreflective LCDs?

Also Can I use LEDs to backlight a LCD 7 segment Display (such as the ones shown here: http://www.sourceresearch.com/shelly/image/7segmentLCD.jpg)

If I could how would they be mounted? I see cell phones use this same Idea. I think they are mounted just below the LCD.

EDIT: The circuit i want to build used LED 7 segment displays.. I dont want to use a LED display. The circuit uses a PIC. Would I have to reprogram the pic to fit the LCD?

OR could I have the PIC output BCD and then convert it to LCD 7 segment code?

    O.K.

If you don't mind using an LCD, using a PIC is simple way to do it with just a few lines of code.
