    Hi all,

I have a HD44780 standard LCD which comprises of a LCD display panel on a PCB (that contains the 16 pin holes for soldering in the 16-pin headers).

Can I can solder the 16-pin header into those holes without removing the LCD display panel? Just want to make sure that I do not damage the LCD panel due to heat. :)

    Thanks,

    Edwards

    Yes, I do it often.

Just be careful and watch your solder times.

If you take more than a few seconds on a pin, you may want to wait a few seconds before moving on to the next pin.

I have never had a problem with solder times affecting my LCD.
