Yeah I liked setting a delay with the Arduino so I could turn it on and leave the room without triggering anything. For some reason though the sensor wasn't reliable when used by the Arduino and sometimes appeared to trigger for no apparent reason.

To fast maybe.
I'm sure someone could help you with some timing tricks.

ie. only count pulses over xx mS long.
