I have been using my HP pavilion laptop for the past 4 and 1/2 years and for the past three months, my monitor displays ultra brightness, which causes difficulty to view the screen. I tried to reduce the brightness but i could not get desired results. What could be problem? My OS is Vista original version and i also have original Norton anti virus installed in my laptop. Please help ,revered members.

 

Does the screen dim when in power saving mode, while running on batteries?

Go to Control Panel\System and Maintenance\System\Device Manager (on the left)

Go there, and make sure that you have all your drivers installed, and that nothing is disabled.
