i had a iec power cord for computer divices it looked small i figured it was'nt shelded. it stoped working so i desided to try and salvage the wire. there are 3 what look like 20 AWG, however my wire striper shows 24-28 AWG wires in it instead of 18 AWG witch is normal. and this came with a 500 watt logisys PSU! i think i'll avoid them fromnow on if there this cheap.

 

After seeing this topic I decided to look up this company as I have never heard of them. I ended up finding this review of one of their power supplies on a site which as some very informative information on how computer power regulation works.

Utterly shocking quality and it is not only the IEC cable that has wire that is too thin. Still quite an informative read. The power supply itself may not even be good enough to salvage parts from.
