    Hello,

I'm learning Java and I wonder if anyone knows of a website where I can find tasks to solve? basically, I'm trying to understand all the basic concepts but I found out the only way I can do that is by writing more and more programs, are there any books or sites with programs/tasks for hobbyists or something?

Not sure how helpful this is for you, but I'd start here. I'm in the process of learning Java as well (well, more like stumbling through Head First Java in my spare time). I'd check out the book in that link too. I've been pretty happy with it as have many others, and for ~$20, it's a good investment.

Ooo! Thanks for the link, totally addicting! I'm starting an electrical engineering program in the fall and I'm taking a Java programming class. I'm trying to get a head start by doing a little learning on my own. We're using Starting out with Java and I really like the book. Walks you through the steps from the VERY beginning.
