We tried doing the grilling thing, but it was a balmy 5°F out,

I suppose the garage will be used for the propane fired turkey frying unit. 5 gallons of peanut oil and 20lbs of propane makes an AWESOME turkey!

Maybe part of the flavor is the fact you can stand in a semi-warm area (40F) while cooking. I feel sorry for those who still do turkeys in an oven. Fried turkeys have much better flavor, tender meat, and, Everything the most perfect oven roasted turkey can provide, except the speed!

Mitch, its because Loosewire is a poet!

As for Thanksgiving, I flew to Georgia to hang with the moms and pops. My mothers birthday was sunday so we arrived then and are staying for the holiday.

We dropped 20lbs of turkey into a brine in a 5 gallon bucket yesterday.

This will be our first attempt at a brined bird.

Apparently the bird gains almost 2 pounds of pre-cook moisture weight, and retains about 2/3 pound after oven roasting. (Sorry, no fried turkey this year)

It will be a great Thanksgiving even if the bird sucks.

Got the family, a stocked bar, and a big screen!
What more could you ask for when you are typically hundreds of miles away from your family?

So cute you have found a girl sharing your interest. A scene from Discovery channel comes to my mind. Two primates plucking each other for parasites and eating them.

Really Loosewire pets! That was weird even coming from you. If I must say.
I would say you are sending out the wrong signals here

It's a very unique style, you should maybe publish a book "The collected thoughts of Loosewire".
I like the way there is never a space after punctuation and all words beginning with "i" are capitalised. Sometimes I wonder if there is a secret code hidden within.

Happy Thanksgiving.

it may not be iambic pentameter but his postings do have a certain rhythm to them
Actually I was more leaning towards that Loosewire. Used the arabic format Rubiyat. But then I realized that the first, second, and fourth lines did not rhyme. I guess, I was somewhat confused by the way Loosewire use the stanzas in his work.
