I am working on a number of projects that need 90volts DC. Many of you have suggested an isolation transformer along with my bridge rectifier. I am having a hard time finding an isolation transformer (ie inexpensive). Any suggestions for 90 volt DC power 1-3 amp? low cost?

Depends on what you need to power at 90VDC @ 3A.
You don't need an isolation transformer. What you need is a 90VDC @ 3A power supply.

For a transformer you will need a 60-65VAC secondary for 90vdc.
    90 x .707.
    Max.

If you need cheap solution. A switch mode power supply will probably be the thing.

OK>>> Anybody ... rank amateur here... Aren't all trans. basically isolation units, or are we speaking only of a 1:1 winding that gets you one step off the mains... ???

    A 1:1 would give you 170VDC.
Some transformers are auto transformers, so do not isolate.
Such items as Variac's do not either.
    Max.
