I'm actually a little confused. Some guy in nasa said the magnetic field is not conservative http://pwg.gsfc.nasa.gov/istp/outreach/ed/back/1.html (he refers to magnetostatic field I think), some guy in madsci says it is conservative http://www.madsci.org/posts/archive...87804.Ph.r.html.

Actually, a little confused.

Hi there, as in the conservation of energy the magnetic fields energy simply changes into another form, e.g when the power is turned of the magnetic field collapses and this stored energy releases in the form of a back e.m.f See Lenzs Law .
One form of energy into another.
