sir/madam,i need the IR transmitter and receiver circuit atleast for a range of 5meter distance.please guide us.

 

Look up IR receiver modules, for instance those made by Sharp. Then get a datasheet for a few of them. These will typically have application circuits and a good explanation of how to use the receiver.

5m should not be a problem but you will need to modulate the transmitter, to avoid interference from ambient light, unless this will operate in the dark. Going much past 10m gets tricky, but basically just takes more power at the transmitter.
