Can any remote work as what ? The sender or the reciever ?
What is the 887A ? Is it a micro or the module that you linked in the picture ?

I don't know about how standardised remote signal carriers are , but If you are using that TSOP reciever module that you have in the picture then you have to make sure that the remote carrier matches the reciever carrier.

Seems RRITESH KAKKAR wants to make a Universal Remote Control using PIC16f877a that can be Programmed to the Control Codes of Any Remote.

Should be possible, not my area

Did you ask Google to see if anyone has ever done this before?

Well as I said , you want to generate an accurate carrier and use a 980nm Ir diode and the programming is up to you...
