iPad banned in Israel because of too much power on wifi

    So were discussing this with some friends and were debating this. I'm sure you guys know way more then we do. We figured its runnning on Broadcom's BCM4329 chip set and Israels limit on wifi is 50mW. From what I saw on the datasheet the chip is outputting 64mW.

    Is it possible to lower the power output via firmware or software upgrade? Or will Apple need to replace the chip to make it comply with European Standards?


    Sorry if you guys want this in Radio section but I figured its more ipadish so should go in Gen Pop.

    If its lower then should be how could that cause a problem?
